August Unmasqued- Tiara
« on: August 17, 2009, 03:09:56 AM »
This month we are ever so privileged to have interviewed Tiara.  Not only is she a long time contributor of stories, but she's also a photographer, and a model.  She took some time out of her busy schedule to sit down with us and share some insights to her processes.

Enjoy!!!

Oh, interviewee disclaimer... she doesn't use caps lol.

please forgive the lack of capital letters here...  i know where they go, it’s just that i don't use CAPS much.

When do you recall your first interest in writing?  What age?

high school...  Creative Writing class.   As I recall, my idea of creative and the teacher's idea of creative were two different= things.   I figured it would be an easy A...  i think i end=d up with a B.

Do you remember the first piece you wrote for fun and not for assignment?

i have no idea where they are now, when i was in college, i wrote=a lot of teenage angst type stuff.   i was very quite, shy, painfully= shy.  it was a way of getting my feelings out there into the universe.    i never let anyone read it.   it was my way of "journaling" i guess.

How did you get started writing erotica? Is it the only genre you write in?
my friend  :)  , Benevolent Goddess, encouraged people in the chat room where we use to hang out, ILT, to submit items for her web site, The Masque.   so, i gave it a go and submitted a few stories and some poetry.   and a few photos.

when my child was in elementary school, the newsletter printed an article i wrote about raising children.  parenting was/is something i am very passionate about.   and i have a blog that i write sporadically.   i notice i'm pretty moody when i read back through it.

What are some of the greatest challenges you face when writing erotica?

lately, inspiration!   lol     it's easier to write about things you have some knowledge or memory of.    it's my feelings, good or not so good, that tend to make me want to put them into words.    i have to be in the right mind set to write.

How do you set your environment for writing, i.e. do you have to have a quiet room, can you be in public, soft music, candles?
i need alone time.  there can be background noise, tv or music, but i find it difficult to write when there're other people around.

Do you ever write long hand and transcribe or do you type as you go?

type as i go

Do you scribble or jot down notes regarding current future stories whenever/wherever the muse hits?
sometimes i make a note when something runs through my brain.; i have to catch it quickly before it's gone  :)

Do you have to be “in the mood for love" to write?

is there ever a time when one's not in the mood for love?    lol    okay, yes, i have to be in some sort of mood.  i can be very focused at times and can channel the feelings onto the keyboard easily.   that's when the good stuff comes out.

How often a day to you commit to your writing or taking photos?
i carry my camera in my handbag but  not many erotica type shots lately...  although, if the occasion arises, i'm ready!      i take photos *all the time.

Do you outline, or let the story flow as it grows?
outlines, no.  i was never really good at that.  i just let it flow and go back and edit.

Do you have to like a character to write him effectively?

um, hmmm...  no, i think you can build a character if you do 't like them or if you're just portraying someone in life.   it's easier, though, to paint a more detailed picture of someone that you're intimately  familiar with.

How do you develop your characters?

usually they're based on someone i have met.    heck, i'm still developing My character  lol

What is your favorite work of your own?
Appreciation of Art              that one was so easy to write and meant a lot to me

What’s your favorite book or story by another writer?

actually, i don't read much anymore.    i tend to read off-the-wall kinds of things.    and stories on The Masque, of course

Each day is one day closer to being where I truly need to be.  I never realized until this very moment, how true that statement is (5/6/09)
