HARU'S NFL FREE Playoff Pool!

I’d like to thank all people who played my pool and the results follow my thoughts of the game.

So let’s get to this Super Bowl 43. It was going to be tough to beat the Pats/Giants legendary game, but it sure comes close enough. It was a bit of a lull in the 1st and 3rd quarters but the 2nd and 4th made up. A 100 yard interception by James Harrison returned for a touchdown after a review and check on Harrison after he became a human lawn dart on the end zone tackle. That ended the first half 17-7 for the Steelers rather than 14-10 for the Cards. A good halftime show helped as Springsteen was everywhere for a 50 year old plus man. More energy than the Canadian commercials that had ads by the Armed Forces and Chartered Accountants, lots of old ones, trailers for Disney/Pixar’s Up, the new Fast and the Furious movie and the Land of the Lost remake…with Will Ferrell? I love his comedies but this is possibly a Bewitched looking stinker. The Budweiser Clydesdale ads were the few American ads we got and they were fun as horses rule! But OMG did we REALLY need that many CTV ads for their shows, with other than Flashback it was on and on with the CSI shows and American Idol. I get it THERE ARE A LOT OF CSI SHOWS. Finally the new Canadian ads for Pringles suck! Gee a WESTERN CANADIAN FARMER hosting a call in show to plant potatoes to make Pringles, what a concept; it’s called Dr. Phil and that sucks just as bad.

But then we got to the 4th quarter after many reviews and penalties aside, Kurt Warner connected with Larry Fitzgerald who was covered all game long to give the Cards a lead I was screaming at for the defense letting off too soon, this after the safety that got it to a 4 point game. But Big Ben got a drive going too, and found my MVP choice Santonio Holmes for a tippy toe touchdown. Warner couldn’t get one more score and it ended 27-23. Close on the score prediction I was but glad I got that MVP right, I can call them. Owner Rooney thanked President Obama who likely was thinking it’s good he’s got a sporting background to not panic too soon. It was like a home game with so many Terrible Towels waving for the Steelers and they got one heck of a game. Funny how at the end we got 2 homage to the NBA, with Holmes’ mock Lebron James powder throwing celebration, and Big Ben in the post game saying like Kevin Garnett, “Anything is possible!” I’m not hanging to see the love-fest for a new show on CTV show the Mentalist, nor for the Office on NBC. Wow and those guys sure got those NFL Shop Steelers Championship merchandise ads out fast! Even the DVD is ready NOW! Well another one in the books, and hope you had fun with the ups and downs. My belly is now FULL of chicken wings, Pringles (which I bough no thanks to the Canadian ads-maybe after this I’ll go online hunting for the US ads that we missed), Orange Crush, a chocolate dipped ice cream bar, Shanghai noodles, pepperoni pizza, and cream soda. Oh man again my stomach must hate me now but well worth it. Congratulations go out to the 6 time Super Bowl Champion (a new record in the NFL) Pittsburgh Steelers!
