PLEASE READ Masque Survey
« on: March 22, 2008, 05:49:04 PM »
Hello folks! My name is Haru, one of the gaming hosts on the Masque.

First we at the Masque would like to thank you all for your various participation on the Masque, whether it be coming to the chatroom for discussions, games or chatting, to posting on the website in the gallery, story section, or forums, to even participating in making your own homepage on the sister site the Oasis.

We wish to further enhance your enjoyment on the Masque and thus decided on doing a survey to just gage how to better serve and host you!

Please take a moment to reply back. Your contributions are greatly appreciated.

1.BEST TIMES AND DAYS
a.What is your timezone?
b.Using your timezone, when are you one usually in the Masque chatroom, meaning the usual days and specific times you're in?

2.INTERESTS
a.Do you come for the discussions and which ones?
b.Do you come for the chatroom games and which ones?
c.Please suggest if you have any changes you wish to see, or additions to the activities done in the chatroom.

Hopefully if you can take a moment to reply and give some input we can cater the chat even more so for you. We hope to hear from you soon and see you in the chatroom!

Discussion Notes: Masque Survey
Best time calculations:
Eastern Time Zone-2
Mountain Time Zone-1
Pacific Time Zone-2
Evenings (past 6PM)-5
Wednesday Nights-2
Weekends-3
Preferences (there is some overlap since some like both):
 Discussions-4
Chat Room Games-3
Summary notes:
-Classes and discussion variety is nice for choice, so long as they’re open and on topic (with enough occasional reminders of the topic)
-Request for a 1 login name system for the site
-A Link exchange (similar to ad exchanges, I used to do this for my club in college-mainly just seeing if other sites will let you cross promote like that one Gay Awareness site)
Raven - Lash is in eastern time zone and I am in mountain...things at PST are too early for Him to participate. Generally evenings and weekends are the times we chat.

We enjoy discussions and "classes” on a variety of topics, not necessarily bdsm or Ds focused. We have enjoyed the Wednesdays night chats. Life has gotten in the way the past several weeks, so not much time devoted to chat.

Best of luck with the site...all growing things must struggle a bit, but will be well worth it in the end.
Ms. Verijaa - I'm Pacific Time, and evening is usually best, but there are no particular days as my schedule vary from week to week.

I like the discussions, and some of the games, when I happen to be able to get there.

The biggest improvement I would recommend for the entire site is to make it cohesive. Having to log in to each section of it is annoying and I know of no other site with similar capacities that requires that. Some have separate login for the bulletin boards/forums, but only a couple even do that. I'm sure there's a reason for it, but there has to be a way to get around it.

I'd also recommend going to every site you can find and do a link exchange with them. Get the word out!
: )beth - I like the discussions and also enjoy the games when I can get there for them, I am in PST. I like the discussions on Wednesday nights and can often make it to those. I tend to be online later in the evening after 9 PST. Um don't know what else you want to know.
DTM - Haru,

I recently attended an "open discussion" and had the following comments.  I saw some things that bothered me and wanted to make some suggestions that I am sure can be improved upon but would at least get some thoughts going.

All in all I like the idea of open discussions where everyone can have equal input and respect from other discussers.  If that is a word!

So below are the 5 things I would suggest for future discussions.

1. The moderator should be letting some "off topic" side discussions happen but then getting people back on the topic at hand. The people there are interested in the main topic or they would not show up. Any major side issues can perhaps become future topics at a later date.

2. The moderator has to be willing to tell people they are getting off topic and be able to stop people who insist on staying off topic.  Perhaps anyone who really believes their side topic deserves a longer discussion can host their own chat at another time.

3. Participants need to let everyone have their say. If one person begins to just lecture everyone else about what is the right and wrong ways to do things or what terms mean etc. etc. then it is no longer an open discussion. It is a lecture that may have a time and place but not as part of an open discussion.

4. Maybe the CM can throw out the occasional description of the intent of the chat into the room occasionally? Like during game nights when the description is thrown out as new people come in? Something like... "This is an open discussion where everyone is encouraged to speak freely about the topic of the day and respect other's rights to express their own opinions. No one person has all the answers."

5. In an open discussion, especially one involving D/s, people need to be encouraged to say what is on their mind without feeling intimidated into silence by others who will not yield the floor, so to speak.  It could be helpful if that is mentioned at the start of any discussion so people are more willing to participate.

That's it!  Thanks for trying to make TM a better place for all with the survey!
Just Prowling - JP here.
Easter Time Zone. US.
I tend to make it in on weekend nights. And occasionally midweek. Depending on other obligations.

I come in to attend the Story Orgy when I can. Most of the time I'm only popping by to chat and spend time with patrons that I'm looking for.
Wishing against hope to have the  time for Cam Night, but as I work late that night and open the following morning, that's not always a smart decision on my part. Or I miss it all together.

No real suggestions though. I'm pretty happy with what I've seen there. It's laid back, easy. Settled. And I definitely dig the new set up.

Later Taters.

Thanks to everyone who has already answered, and just a reminder that more comments suggestions are always welcome.

We'd love to have more things going on at more times during the day to accommodate various timezones, and we're always looking for more hosts to lead games/discussions etc...

If you have an idea, drop us a line.  here, yahoo, in chat.
Each day is one day closer to being where I truly need to be.  I never realized until this very moment, how true that statement is (5/6/09)
