5 things you love about the Harry Potter series
1. Severus Snape - The man is just so damn irresistable. He's portrayed as a dark man, but he sacrifices all he is to make up for a youthful indiscretion. He's sarcastic, and I love that.
2. Lucius Malfoy - Yes, he's a purist prick, but he's so sexy and dark; I can easily overlook his major flaw. I also have a thing for "bad boys", if you can't tell.
3. The magic - It's cool to think that somewhere, maybe this could exist.
4. The fact that even though the unbelievable is popping out everywhere, the story is still grounded in classic reality situations. Take for instance the themes of war and issues with race, ie. magical folk verses non-magical peoples - it's similar to race relations with African Americans and caucasians. When I mention war in the series, it's easily comparable to World War II and the attempt at Genocide that Hitler made with those of the Jewish faith. Voldemort also tries something along those lines with those who he views as having "dirty blood".
5. The fact that JKR incorportes myth and legend into the series. For instance: the use of creatures such as dragons, unicorns, vampires, and lycanthropes.
