WIKTT POST: Plot Bunnies up for Adoption

Posting a message on the boards earlier about Snapes teenaged tastes, I felt the gnawing of a persistant bunny to this effect:

Correct my abysmal maths if you have the inclination, but I've been corrected that, taking Snape's DOB to be 1960 he would have been 18 in 1978.
This deduction led me to consider, accepting the premise that he listened to muggle music (he was 19! and um, rebellious! it was 1968! they were crazy times!) what he would have been into.

I'd love to see a fic where Hermione (in her last year or thereabouts?) connects with Snape after discovering his weakness for the Muggle music of his youth.
A tender or painful event occurs, triggering nostalgia and a regression into old records. Not a song-fic, or time-travel because.. *retches*, I think that this could reach a previously untapped element of the Snape myth.



Suggestions:

'I'm going to begin with the Velvet Underground (late '60s, early 70's)
- esp. the first album, because I think Reed embodies a certain dark sensuality..

Also, I'll suggest Serge Gainsberg's 'La histoire de melody nelson'(1971) for aforementioned reasons. Also it's French, so you can imagine Rickman purring along to the theme of an older man seducing his ingenue. *swoons*

*smiles slyly* Since Adam Ant was suggested, I'm all for Bowie... 'Golden Years'(1974), maybe Diamond Dogs...I could see Snape as embracing his more "gothic" work. *chuckles*

A Plot Bunny that's had me in a death-grip for quite a while now!

This is one of the many bunnies I've gotten in the past few years of my short life
as an avid fanfiction-lover, but this particular one doesn't seem to want to let go of me.
So, I've decided to do it justice and give it up for adoption.

It's just a very general idea, no real detailed rules:

It is, of course, a HG/SS. That's the whole point of WIKTT!

A transfer student, whether it be a he or a she, comes from another school
from another country (your choice of country).

And I'm thinking along the lines of Hermione and Snape slowly starting to notice each other
and the student somehow trying to catch either Hermione or Snape's attention,
in a crush-sort of way or whatever. The other person, the person not being
the center of attention of the transfer student, gets jealous or something.

But hey, it doesn't have to be! I just want a sort of humorous story
with transfer students, since I'm a Korean

That's ALL!

And even though this ending should belong in the "challenges" .txt files,
I'll say it anyway, since I'm too lazy to make a whole challenge
(it's just the way I'm built! and I've got too much schoolwork anyway..)

Secret Santa!

Ok, so this has probably been done before, but I was looking at other plot bunnies and stuff and it seemed like a decent idea.

The premise: Hermione is back at Hogwarts after graduation, she's either a teacher, apprentice, assistant, just visiting, whatever...

For whatever reason she's there in the first place, Hermione is there at least over Christmas. Albus thinks it'd be "fun" for all the teachers (and/or guests, depending on your reason for Hermione being there) to exchange gifts through a secret santa.
 
Everyone's name is written down, put in a hat (yes, this is the wizarding world, but keep in mind that it's Albus ), and every person taking a part of this must pick a name, no exchanging. Severus isn't willing, but Albus makes him do it. Unsurprisingly, Hermione gets Severus, and vice versa.

Whilst the gifts are anonymous, the gift that Severus gets makes him wonder who his secret santa was, and the same for Hermione.

I was thinking that a nice way for them to discover that they are each other's gift givers would be Snape over-hearing a conversation between Hermione and someone else. She would be talking about the gift she gave, but not to whom it was given. Obviously Snape would know because he was the recipient, but he doesn't say anything. In fact, he doesn't even know how to react!

His opinion of Hermione has changed slightly since she graduated (it  must have if they're together in a professional capacity, or similar), but it will cange even moreso once he knows the gift is from her.

Trapped

The long, thin room had only four items of furniature in it, yet Hermione was
happy with it, or would have been if it were different circumstances under
which she was held in that room. By day, if not drowned by sorrow or confined
to her bed - seperate from the rest of her room - Hermione would sit in the
single chair next to her lamp, watching the grandmother clock tick noisily,
the pendulum swinging rhythmically, predictably, from side to side. She never
used the dressing table or mirror, except to check her appearance or eat her daily bread and water.
She was in no way vain, and did not want to impress anyone, but...

Continue this! Theer is a photo in the photo bit of how her room and bed appear, it is up to you to describe them properly. Please can somebody continue this?

Plot Bunny - Challenges
Plotting romance can be challenging...especially when others are up to similar mischief.

This is an old bunny that reappeared recently.  Please look after, am very fond of him!

Several years after the final battle, Snape is still in St Mungo's.
Hermione, now a permanent Hogwarts teacher, is taking his classes for 'an indefinite period'.

Dumbledore announces an New Year's Ball, just before the Christmas holidays, and also states to watch the professors carefully.
Over the next few days, Hermione and four others (I thought McGonagall, Sprout, Pomfrey and Pince) each receive notes
asking them to present challenges to all the Hogwarts staff.

Meanwhile, unbeknown to them, Snape is recovering, and is sent home on Christmas Eve.
He portkeys nearby the Shrieking Shack.

An old school friend of Hermione's turns up on Christmas Eve and
asks if she wishes to go for an outing.
Hermione accepts, but the school friend is regarded suspiciously by her colleagues.
They are accompanied by some others, who somehow disappear as they walk by the Shack.
After a lot of tension-building, the friend proposes.  Enter Snape.
A couple of lines later, more appearances.
The friend is sent packing, but still regarded suspectly.

The challenges are received the next day, including Snape's (hastily sent).
The beginnings of emotion are shown among staff members.
Dumbledore has added his own challenge, namely, guess the challengers.

The school arrives back New Year's Eve, and everything is done for the Ball.
The challenges begin.

Suggestions:

-Pairings: AD/MM, FF/PS, PP/RL...whatever you want (these are just my favourites)
-Why not be inventive with the challenges?  There're plenty of things you could do.

I realise this is a very short time span, but it does reflect some reality.^_~
Also, if you're feeling lazy, or don't want to make up your own challenges,
I've got some that you can tweak, mess around with, alter, change, or use for inspiration.

Severus has been hit by a potion/spell/hex that makes him insanely attractive. Hermione is the only one unaffected. I stole it from Buffy, but I gave the writers credit. You may or may not be interested.

I shamelessly stole this idea from an episode of Buffy: The Vampire
 Slayer and I think there is already a challenge about it, but I can't
 remember.  I am too fiendishly lazy to go searching for it, but if
anyone finds one similar to this, I will delete it.

  Basically the "Add Sex, Then Stir Vigorously" Plot Bunny is as follows:

   Snape is somehow hit by a spell or affected by a potion that causes
every heterosexual female and homosexual male over puberty to find him
irrisistably sexually attractive.  Naturally, this potion/spell
altercation will not involve Neville, as that is such a horrible cliche.
Just as naturally, Hermione will be the only one not affected by the
spell/potion, possibly because she brewed it, cast it, was partially
hit by it, or simply because she was not around when it was cast while
everyone else was.  This will most likely have to be post-war, as it
lends itself predominately to romantic comedy.  The war with Voldemort
really has no place in a romantic comedy.  Dumbledore will also probably
be gone during the day or two that the story takes place in.

   There will probably be a lot of close encounters with female teachers
and students, not to mention amusing scenes where Harry/Ron express
disgust.  The whole situation will probably end up with Severus holing
up in a room while Hermione slips him food or with all the females coming
after Snape in a big mob, determined that if they can't have him, no one
will. Somehow this experience will bring Snape and Hermione together. 
The most probable ending will be Hermione and Snape cornered by the lust
-crazed girls (and guys) and Hermione deciding that if she is going to
die, she is at least going to see what everyone's so worked up over.  She
kisses Severus, and he kisses back, thus breaking the spell, because the
only cure for it was Snape giving into his desire for someone. Dumbledore
will then probably show up, providing comic relief with some off-the-cuff comment about lemon drops, etc.

A sorta plot bunny escaped from a novel, basically a short dialogue - funny, romantic or angsty, whatever you like it to be.

The above is from Graham Greene’s novel The Quiet American” and immediately made me think of Severus and Hermione. I’ve found to possibilities: Either Snape is talking to Hermione about some other woman – that would mean a friendship or dramatic, maybe rather tense story – or he is talking about her – she in a red dress being part of his deepest sexual experience” ever. I think the dialogue is a fantastic basis for a short story which could be anything between angst and a fluffy PWP. I never got round to writing it myself, so I thought I donate it to the plot bunnies farm at WIKTT… Have fun!

Sabrina Challenge

1.   Voldemort has been defeated along with Harry Potter. You deal with the hows if you wish.

2.   Inner Circle Death Eaters take over the ministry and therefore control the wizarding world. Lucius already had the coop in place, without Voldemort’s approval.

3.   No one is able to disprove loyalties either way, so Snape is still considered loyal to his fellow purebloods. Therefore, he maintains a high status with the wealth to back it.

4.   Pureblood Order members have gone into hiding, except for Ginny Weasley. See 10. You decide if the Order members ever show up during the story.

5.   The house elves are basically extinct after helping the Order defeat Voldemort. A few select may still be around.

6.   Lucius Malfoy, as the new Minister of Magic, decides that all ‘mudbloods’ who have been captured must serve the purebloods in order to live.

7.   The Snape family acquires Hermione Granger among their slaves/servants. How is up to you. Pick two other muggle-borns to be at the Snape’s with her.

8.   Hermione’s parents decide to come and be with her and also serve the Snape family. What the three of them do specifically is up for grabs.

9.   The Snapes are very lenient with their servants. This can mean what you will.

10.   Ginny Weasley does not go in hiding because she had taken the dark mark, and no Death Eater could prove she was part of the Order. You decide where her loyalties were and are.

11.   Fred and George have also become very rich, as they did not take a side in the war, and thus are also not hiding. They take good care of their sister, and act as her parents would.

12.   The line, ‘He is the world’s only living heart donor’ much be used in reference to Severus. Severus must use the following line when talking to Hermione, ‘Severus Snape is solitary. Yes, I suppose people would find that funny.’

13.   The rest should be generally similar but not exact to the movie Sabrina.
